The following requirements and reminders apply for the state of West Virginia. Please ensure that you have read and understand these requirements and that you have prepared any necessary documents and materials.
- You must be an immediate family member or demonstrate a legal right to the record in order to obtain a copy of the record.
If you are requesting for your spouse, you must provide a copy of your marriage certificate along with the copy of the valid I.D. - The West Virginia records office requires a copy of a valid I.D. (driver's license, military I.D., or State-issued I.D. card with photo and signature).
